What I like about the jets is their width. This makes them work well for me for kicks besides the flutter kick: frog kicks, helicopter kicks (a little ankle rotation) and all the little fin moves I do as a photographer. They are much better at all this stuff than my old quattros, which generally rate as the top modern monofins.

Jets are heavy. Nice for drysuits, bad for travel. I believe OMS makes a lighter copy of the jets. I'd like to try them.

I don't believe a word of this split fin stuff. Maybe, just maybe, they are the right fin for folks with weak legs that need a fin matched to their kick. But more than once I have kicked right by people wearing them. So has my wife, and she only wears the medium size jets which have much smaller blades. I'm not sure how they'd be at any kick besides flutter, too. I sure see them kick up a lot of sand.

I'm looking for a good pair of fins for travel, maybe a full foot design so I don't need booties. Anyone have any suggestions?

Get some spring straps, too.

Oh, I hate the captcha
