You can get training to do something but if you never expefrience it, the training is sort of moot.

You can get experience doing something but with proper training, you may be able toi do it better.

But "I did it and nothing bad happened so I guess I'm qualified" is not good training, and perhaps not even good experience.

And that's how divers get themsevles into trouble.
