Look Kev, we had two, count 'em two Coast Guard licensed skippers on board and they know the processes, procedures and Rules of the Road. There was a 10 minute attempt to contact the vessel on channel 16, with no response or deviation of course as this guy plowed along, WAY out of the designated approaches. Shortly after this "Big Ugly" rolled over our divers, the Long Beach Pilot boat showed up, hauling ass to catch up with this guy. The LBP was calling on 16, too and not getting a response. We were seriously contemplating popping a very round in front of the wheelhouse, but he was just enough clear to forestall this last, desparate act. We know the rules and follow them. Tonnage may rule, but this guy was wrong, wrong, wrong, and with divers in the water there was little we could do about it.
