Lee, before I got my Fuji E900 i shot exclusively in super macro with a Samsung 5.0 megapixel using my 10 watt HID. It takes patience, luck and great subjects, but you will be able to get some nice macro shots that way. One of my favorites is a Hermissenda crassicornis from the point at Marineland. I had to hold the camera still with one hand, my light with the other and fight heavy surge but got very lucky.
