This month LA County Baywatch will send a boat and team to discuss rescue operations and the mission of Baywatch. Participants will be shuttled to the outer kelp beds where we will teach kelp skin diving techniques. We will also have a marine biologist identify whatever species we find while exploring these healthy kelp beds and reefs.
Be sure to arrive before 7:30 am to register – the class starts promptly at 8 am and the Baywatch boat is due at 9 am. In-water training should be complete by 11 am and a short presentation on site planning, underwater geology and marine life identification will conclude our day.
We skin dove Nicholas Canyon a couple of weeks ago and the kelp and conditions were excellent - hopefully we'll have another great day! The Baywatch boat is always one of the most popular adventures for our 3-R's program.
