Maybe the project engineers need to read 'Geology Underfoot in So Cal' for the Santa Barbara harbor's effects from man's attempt to manage the coastline. That sand will all migrate toward White Point and Cabrillo at the first storm.

Wonder who they're paying off on the California Coastal Commission?
