you're right: i am NOT an "advanced" diver by your
(personal??) definition. i don't: ship wreck dive,
cave dive, deep (>130ft) dive, trimix dive, nitrox
dive, or ice dive. i don't presume to know anything about
these types of diving, but i was responding to
someone who is more like me than not: an open
water, open overhead, recreational type of diver
and i believe that my words of experience are quite
valid.

to be absolutely honest, my buddies and i have never
done the 1/3 air rule--and we've dived just fine, thank you.

i don't mean to shoot down your own opinion based,
presumably, on your own personal experience, but
i don't believe you have the right to shoot down
mine either, especially since there was nothing
incorrect, morally wrong, or contradictory mentioned
in my post.

ultimately, it is up to the diver asking the question
to decide how he/she wants to dive, but i did provide
a safe word of encouragement: just be alert when
diving in a 3-some.

btw, i'm not diving for tactical or team reasons, i
dive to enjoy the scenery. and what's wrong w/two
2-person teams...???...
