Gotta watch out when those sea lions charge and then veer off at the last second, that usually their way of telling you that you've crossed into their territory. If you continue to press further into their territory don't be suprised if when they charge they don't veer away and instead ram you.

The sea lions tend to be aggresive when it is the males trying to guard ther heirom or when there are young pups.

If they charge you and veer off, consider yourself as having been warned.

On another interresting note of sea lions, the ones up near Anacapa tend to be pretty smart little buggers. I'd recommend diving without a snorkel as they like to grab your snorkel and take off. Unfortuanately this means the mask comes off with it. Carrying a spare mask isn't a bad idea, or removing the snorkel. A fair trade, such as a fish will usually get your snorkel/mask back. :)
