Gee whiz, what is your problem?
You harp like an old women with nothing better to do.
We all know that solo diving is likely to be a bit
more hazardous than buddy diving. SO WHAT!!!
Diving is more dangerous than walking, but we still do it.
Deep diving with any mix, cave diving and wreck penetration
are all likely to be more dangerous than sport diving, but
you like to do it and advocate it.
Fine. Do what you want, but could you just quit harping on
those that want to solo. There isn't anything wrong with it
no matter how many times you say there is or how much
self-rightous indignation you spew into your opinion.
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH A PERSON SOLO DIVING!!! It's just
another way to enjoy scuba. It happens to be really fun.
What is the qualitative difference? If it gets on your nerves
too much for you to do it, then don't. Others don't have that
problem.
It's that simple. Can't you figure out something so simple?
Why don't you be really safety conscious and work on convincing
people that they shouldn't drive cars? They're dangerous too,
you know.
Again, et fini, SO WHAT?!!
Enjoy the diving, seahunt
PS. Not that it will matter to you, but 8 hours seems fine. A class
is not going to teach a person to be a solo diver. That comes from
within and from experience. They either have what it takes before the
class or they don't. The class is not going to change that, though it
may offer a few pointers that could make solo diving safer.
