kendall, personally i don't see team diving a la
'dir' as feasible to those divers who don't eat/drink/sleep
w/each other.
it's nice that a really tight knit group of divers
exist who all believe in the same philosophy--more
power to them.
but for those of us who dive w/different buddies,
or for those who never get to see their buddy until
the morning of the dive, being as little dependent
on the buddy and as self-sufficient as possible
makes more sense.
so far you haven't provided a satisfatoy argument
for never taking a redundant air source.
i don't team dive (ie, 3 buddies)...i don't particularly care
to team dive, i just want one other person w/me
who can take care of themselves as much as they
can and then rely on me as a secondary source--and
who will enjoy the dive as much as i do.
again, though, no one has been convincing in why
one can't and shouldn't take down a pony bottle.
