Do you penetrate wrecks??? If so you could easily puncture your bc.. What if you LP inflator hose fails, are you going to manually inflate your bc while sinking??? If so, do you worry about C02 buildup's???
Does it happen often, NO. But we train because we know it could happen and if it does it might kill us so why justify a dumb practice when the same thing can be done just as easily absent the added risk????
Think the problem through before you get in the water so you don't have to worry about it should it happen...
