from my understanding of experiences w/buddy breathing/sharing
an octo, i've come to the conclusion that it probably
is best to hand a pony off to someone who needs
it (for either an out of air situation or if their
reg was malfunctioning, etc).
the only reason i have a backup reg (and why
i had an in-line octo before) was so that i could
share air under necessary circumstances when i
was not travelling w/a pony. so, no redundancy
there, but at least there was an extra reg.
i just figure that it will be less dangerous for
me if i hand off a redundant air supply to a
buddy who needs it rather than have them hanging
on me or pulling my reg up w/them, so on and so
forth.
so, although the pony is for my sake moreso than
for anyone else, it would be really nice to stage
it in front to hand it off to someone else who may
need it.
...did that answer your q?...
