I know this may surprise you but I agree 100% with you..

We, often times, in class will disconnect the students drysuit inflation source just to break them of the ridiculous PADI, DUI habit of using the drysuit as an inflation source..

Put in just enough to be comfortable and then use the BOUYANCY COMPENSATOR for the rest of the dive..

Ken was also right about the rationale.. What is more likely to cause a problem, the BC that you have been trained in it's use from day 1, or air getting trapped in your feet , or something, and having an uncontrolled ascent.. It's much easier to vent a BC then an uncontrolled drysuit inflation...
