You cant effectivly use your o2 tanks by adding after the fact. If your charging low o2 pressures you can effectivly empty your o2 storage bottle, if your topping with o2, you need a much higher o2 pressure to overcome what is already in your scuba tank thus you end up tossing approx 1000 psi of your storage bottle becuase its pressure is not high enough to get the gas to flow.
This is precisly how I get free aviators o2, we always toss about 1800psi in each bottle becuase our operational pressures are so high. I just siphon it off into my storage bottles.
