Just an odd picture of the pre-dive briefing that had been suggested as a potential prevention!
I believe in pre-dive briefings. When I dive with people I always brief them on my gear and how to remove my weights and how I would remove theirs. I think divers are generally glad that I take the initiative and conduct this part of the dive. But no briefing would have prevented your experience. Glad you came back to hunt instead of haunt!
