SLANG & MikeK,

the nice thing about the NitrOx dive computers, like Suunto etc, is that when you dial-in the NitrOx mix and set your PO2 warning level to either 1.4 or 1.5 or 1.6, then it would beep if you inadvertently or overtly went deeper than the MOD for the settings you have input before the dive.

SLANG, your set-up is a bit unrealistic in that a complete NitrOx scenario with a good diving computer could indeed have avoided the whole problem of diving too deep too long without safe deco available.

in addition, as you probably know, SLANG, you can go to a much higher level of PO2 than just 1.6 for short periods of time, and survive.

MikeK, pulling your own punches sometimes encourages others to pull theirs too.

this has been a very interesting thread. other divers benefit from MsBlucows courage in posting her own recent experience, as do we all.
