Jason you wrote >that person or buddy pair's recklessness does not endanger others<

It does indirectly if not directly. What are the procedures for bent/embolized divers on your average trip? Wait to recall all divers before leaving right? Do you think that if a diver embolizes 5 min into 45 min dive the crew will be calm when all 6 other buddy teams show up at the ladder in 40 more mins? What is the potential for disorganization and reactionary attitudes that end up 1) leaving people behind 2) running into or over other divers 3) abandoning divers all together as 'we will be right back to get them' How well does the diver count work on a rocking boat with emergency procedures ongoing and someone about to die and people scrambling about? So either directly (grabbing onto you or your reg or indirectly as stated above others in the water around you effect you) If I had a run away drysuit and grabbed hold of you or my buddy we are both polaris missles..no real wayaround it
