We just had a student drop out from the free class being offered by Andrew G, John Walker and myself on the above referenced dates..
I'll be out of town virtually until the class and I'm not sure I'll be able to check in so if interested call me on my cell at 310-435-3911..
The class will begin at 7:00 at Scuba Toys in Cypress, we will do pool and lecture so you'll need your gear.. You can use your own gear, but if you want to try out a DIR rig let me know ahead of time and I'll lend you one.. The only modification is that we do require a long hose [ 5' or 7' in length]. Early AM Saturday morning we'll leave for Avalon and spend Sat. and Sun. at Casino point and take the late boat home Sunday evening. The tution is free, all you need is to buy the GUE Fundamentals book and get yourself to and from Catalina, and put yourself up in a room..
I had a waiting list, but I mistakenly deleted it so the last spot is first come first serve. I'll be in the office today until 7:00 and then on a plane tomorrow so I may be a bit difficult to get in touch with so e-mail me ASAP. We are limiting this class to local shop owners { Ken Kurtis are you reading this????} and/or instructors and the purpose of the free admission is to allow local shop owners and instructors to more fully understand the GUE philosophy absent the requiste flame wars associated with the various scuba forums.. We've been doing these all over the country and I've yet to see a shop owner or instructor that hasn't walked away with a greater knowledge base after one of these classes..
