You want to protect a few largish areas, not
a bunch of little sites. If you protect little
sites, the fish migrate off it and get caught.
With a larger site, the fish stay in it even if
the wander a bit. Up north, Hopkins Marine
Reserve is small, and fish look just like they
do outside. Pt. Lobos is bigger (but not big
enough, IMHO), and the fish are clearly bigger
more numerous, and more diverse than outside.
