In "Dive Training's" March 2002 issue Alex Brylyske wrote an article on free diving. In it he states "A strong can be made that its the free diver who has the most authentic relationship with the Aquatic world. As evidence, just talk to any serious free diver. Of course, as with scuba divers, you're likely to hear about the wonderful creatures and environments he or she has encountered. But the dialog is likely to center as much, if not more, on the very spiritual kinship they feel with the underwater world, a kinship, may contend, is impossible while wearing a scuba tank." No disrespect to Alex or any free divers but that makes it sound like free divers are better than scuba divers. I totally disagree. I admitt that free diving takes a lot of concentration and mental-readiness but so does scuba. I found this article interesting and wondered what other people would think. Any opinions???
