When I freeze any seafood, I always use the disposable plastic containers and fill then with water.
I put one or two tails in each container, fill it with water and into the deep freeze.
The same method works for scallops & fish.
For long term (more than a few weeks) do not keep seafood in a no frost freezer.
No frost freezer go through periodic deforost cycles that will damge the food.
A deep freeze at -20°F or colder is best for long term storage.
I have keept sea foood for up to three years stored under such conditions and it always comes out great.
I have never had good reults with any method of long term storage in a frost free freezer.
