I'm not joking. Blows your mind doesn't it? That these divers are so much more skilled than you are and have their buoyancy nailed to the point where they see no need to use a BCD. Some pick up a rock or hold kelp, others use small fin kicks and possibly other methods I haven't heard about. With the level of skill they have I see no increased risk because they don't dive overweighted and can drop lead to get positive in an emergency. This also eliminates several potential failure points in the first stage, power inflator and bladder from either deflating or overinflating sending you rocketing to the surface.
