also, with the santa ana's that rolled in a couple of weeks ago along with the resudal from the mexcian hurricane, the winds blow the swells opposite of the normally westward flow, displacing water, and the replacementwater comes up from depth which has heavier sediment particles and these are brought up along with colder water. so it is most likely a combo of that, and max bottomtime's explaination as well.
