test questions I remember from my basic class called on me to rank order responses to an out of air situation. My recollection is that the "correct" answer was ESA (although it could also have included an EBA) came BEFORE buddy breathing in order of preference. I remember because I got the question wrong since I put buddy breathing before any emergency ascent. It was a PADI class. My instructor explained that the logic was why waste time swimming down your buddy when the surface is a certainty. Oh.
Anyone know if I remember this right and, if so, whether this is still the case? This was a long time ago so could be irrelevant to today's teaching methods. It struck me as an excuse for poor buddy skills at the time.
