Although we're at opposite poles on the Nitrox issue, gotta agree with you on the OOA issue. Why isn't this hammered into basic students as THE keystone to safe diving? No matter how much **** happens, our fault or fate, as long as we have an abundance of gas to support our fragile lives, we can live to dive again. However...if a competent diver returns to the boat OOA and has a reasonable explanation for sucking it dry, I'd at least give him/her another chance before 86-ing their diving day.
