Good point. Isn't spearfishing more about the thrill of the kill or is it more need to eat? I like rod and reel fishing for the thrill of the catch and pulling in something big. I guess if you spear it you should plan on eating it or does that matter to those that hunt? At least on rod and reel you can choose to release it if it's not a keeper. YMMV
