Yesterday I had an opportunity to try a pair of Scuba Pro Jet Fins. Not an intentional try out - I forgot my fins and thethe Jet Fins just happened to be what I could borrow for the dive. For years I have been an Apollo split fin diver. The difference was huge, not necessarily better, just huge.

Jet Fins
With the Jet Fins I felt like I had two stiff paddles strapped on my feet.
They were much more negatively buoyant than my Biofins. For the Jet Fin users who argue that you would never need ankle weights - I couldn't agree with you more. Without any additional leg weighting it required effort to invert - so much that I felt like I could hammer myself into the sand if I just added one more kick. They altered my trim so much it was even difficult to stay horizontal.
In general, they seemed to require much more effort for propulsion and my air consumption was definitely greater. They felt more "deliberate" - but much clumsier.

I like my Biofins. They may not be the fastest fins out there, but for maneuverability and delicate body twists and turns - they rock.
