So when you say it doesn't work do you mean not at all or just that it's having trouble reliably focussing? If it isn't working at all it's possible one of the controls on the housing is misadjusted and pressing a button at depth which can cause all sorts of wonkiness.

One way to diagnose this is to take the main o-ring off the housing to simulate being at depth and see if you can duplicate the problem. If you can then maybe try to figure out which button is being depressed by playing with the camera out of the housing until you get similar behavior and adjust whatever control mates with that button. (or have your UW photo tech do it.)

I rarely need a focus light for wide angle but it's essential for macro. Especially if you're using the 105 VR.
