Mike, you just don't get it, we are a sum of our experiences. Everything we see, hear, read, feel, watch, are where we get out idea's. There is nothing new, just a different twist (maybe a creative twist, but a twist of someone else's idea's).
I always think it's funny when people talk about something new, there is nothing new it's just a rehash of the old.
Mike can you give me one example of a new creative idea (that's not built on top of someone else's thought)? I bet you can't.
