We all know that dehydration increases the risk of DCS. Most of us also know that coffee dehydrates. Some of us may not be able to get into the day without that fix, but they may not be aware that a cup of coffee leaves your body with that amount missing in water, so even after drinking a cup of water, you are still where you were before as if you drank nothing.
So, why do the boats offer coffee in the first place? Is not diver safety one of their foremost objectives? And while we're at it, the hot tub after a dive isn't such a great idea either...
