Of course diving is a sport with inherent risks, but there are some on this board who go out of their way to make it even riskier. Solo diving and using a backplate without any kind of inflation devise are just 2 examples seaserpent cited. Although I firmly believe that the individual diver is ultimately responsible for the way he or she dives, there is a distressing trend from some to glorify this kind of risk-taking. Dive any way you want, but stop denying that you're stacking the deck against you and that other divers (especially newer ones) shouldn't follow in your foot steps.
