Good question.

Right now, they have positions for two divers in each group (four regions throughout the state, I think). One is considered "consumptive" and the other is "non-consumptive."

As to exactly who gets chosen, it will be some combination of representative groups (GLACD, dive clubs, etc.) &/or individuals already involved in the process.

The real trick to all this is to get a person who will truly represent the sense of the people he/she represents, and not just their own self-interests. And therein lies the rub.

If you'd like to suggest someone, there is a "nominating" process that I'll double-check on and post here in the next day or so.
