Here is the question:

How many of the divers you see in your classes like Tables & Computers, NITROX (whoops), Advanced, DM, etc., are actually competent with tables when they start the course?

I ask because I am always stunned at the inability of a large number of divers I meet to use tables and get the correct answer. I am more stunned by the fact that so many of them are embarrassed to get help (which woudl allow them to become more self sufficient), or admit that they do not know their nitrogen status at the beginning of repetitive dives.
