I agree with the second half of your post, but I believe the first half was not appropriate. You're reacting to posts Mike has made in the past. not the one in front of you now. The fact is you're talking about dives that virtually guarantee a big hit of narcosis, narcosis that can affect judgment and make it more difficult to make quick effective decisions should problems occur. Not to play "gotcha", but in an earlier post you stated that "I forget little details so easily past 100ft....."

Mike isn't wrong for advocating Tri-mix for such a dive. Sure, it's more difficult, expensive and labor-intensive, but it can also make that kind of diving much safer.
