Ok, I guess I need to really watch what I say or risk being cut to shreads. My dive scenario that I described took place in only 15' max depth. The point I was trying to make was that an out of air buddy charged at me to get my reg in only 15' of water. Some sort of panick must have taken over because he was unaware that the surface was 15' away and a simple ascent would have been the solution. And yes of course you do not hold your breath on the way up, I mistakenly used those terms to describe going to the surface without another breath because my reg was grabbed from my mouth. A classic example of a panicked buddy endangering his partners safety. If you choose to rely on a buddy, make sure you can trust that person.
