If sea lions were overpopulated one would think that every remote beach around Catalina and San Clemente Islands would have established sea lion rookeries but that is clearly not the case. I know that when i am offshore, i don't see the huge rafts of pups that were around years ago and the rookeries are noticeably less crowded. You may be seeing more of them along the shore, but that doesn't mean there is a population explosion.

btw, if the exporters continue to remove tens of million pounds of forage fish every year, what are your halibut going to eat...?
