A diver was arrested today for spearing a #150 black sea bass in LA JOLLA COVE while using scuba. Only facing a fine as it was a first offense, despite it being in the reserve. As a diver and spearfisherman this is very disturbing, we all know they are protected. I'd hate to get the goverment more involved in our lives but this pisses me off. Not too hard to hit a tame seabass that looks at you like a puppy does. Maybe confiscate all equipment, the boat and a life-long ban from the ocean.
