Inspired by a recent thread
http://diver.net/bbs/messages/2710.shtml
here's the scenario: stuck in the surf zone, continuously pounded and tumbled by heavy breakers, not able to get out without help. How to survive with regards to BC/buoyancy?
Obviously, there are two schools of thought:
A. Inflate BC, possibbly even ditch weight, to stay on top of the surface in breaking waves.
B. Deflate BC, don't ditch weights, to stay heavy at the bottom, avoiding breakers, swimming/crawling along the bottom to get out of the water.
Once again, we are not talking emergencies in open, deep water, but within a turbulent surf zone near the beach, in shallow water.
What would you do and why?
Thanks for any and all contributions,
