Understand, but isn't that akin to equiping ourselves with lightening rods in the event we get struck by lightening? Of all the buddy teams that should never be OOA in any environment that would be experienced DIR teams. With and without buddies in 36 years of active diving, world-wide, I've yet to encounter an OOA situation, and two thirds of that diving has been penetrating shipwrecks. So am I a non-recurring phenomenon, just lucky, or...? I assume in a DIRe configuration the 7' hose would be coiled and secured. How and where?
