John this configuration is anagalous to those used by academic diving programs associated with AAUS and CMAS as we were required to test this during my DM training in 93. Back then they called it a 'motified cavern' configuration and I couldn't wait to drop it once I got the needed input from mr tyler moon. The *problem* with this (or variations of this system) lies in rescue and the ability to free yourself quickly from the rig. During drills we found that some had woven the console through each arm hole making an easy extraction near impossible with three gauge console (we even had a few larger fellows who couuldn't get it out and couldn't read their gauges). So I've tried it and didn't like it other than the fact that its about the cleanest ow profile that's out there *ie no dragging gauges)
