Thanks for all the advice. I will follow it.

I did find a Oceanic Alpha 7 reg. for $100 that had only been used on (5) freshwater dives 4 of which were in a swimming pool. I thought that was a pretty good deal. Not the "Rolls" of regs... but supposed to be an easy breather... and a real value.

I will stay away from making any major purchases right now until I have a chance to get a feel for what fits/suits me best.

I will probably be purchasing my fins/mask/snorkel right away. Sure could use some good advice on a wetsuit. Like the idea of a Dry Suit.. and will probably start out with just a wetsuit but eventually will pop for the dry later. Who makes a great suit dry and wet?

Are these good choices?
For a male 6', 185Lbs., fit

Mask:
Mares - Opera (or whatever is good quality and great fit)

Fins:
Apollo - Split fin (too heavy??)
or
Tusa Xpert Zooms

Snorkel:
OceanMaster - Dry snorkel (not sure of the flex or not)

Any recommendations?

Thanks again for all the advice again.
Can't wait to get started... and hope to catch up to ya some day!
