I disagree about your last comment about questions being a sign of incomplete certification work. A basic certification should give enough information to allow the use of standard scuba equipment and enough knowledge to be able to learn more.

The first question had to do with brand mixing, which is far too specific to be covered in a class. Such decisions need to be based on specific brand issues.

The second question about the size of DIN versus Yoke can get missed in class even though it is shown. When all the gear is introduced, it is hard to remember the sizes of items presented

Warranty problems of an unusual nature are not normally covered in basic certification courses.

A newbie might be mislead by your comments into thinking that they got screwed because some things were not covered in their class. The truth is that whether you are a newbie or an old timer, you still need to keep asking and learning.
