The answer, is no. Reef Seekers in not offering a 40% discount.
On their behalf, though. Volunteers at the Long Beach Aquarium, do not get paid. While they may enjoy the notoriety of the event, they do not get paid. Think about that for a second or two. They come from all around SoCal. They pay for their own gas to get there. They pay for their own dinner, lunch, or breakfast.
Billy and Ken came up with this to reward the divers for what they do. Good job Billy and Ken.
I guess a couple of shops are pissed about this. Why? Perhaps they did not think about this first. Perhaps they do not like Ken and Billy. Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps. Sorry, this does not wash.
This is a very limited discount offered to the volunteers of the Aquarium, not the general public. I see no way this can hurt any shop, unless of course, they are pissed because they did not think of this first.
