Need scuba instructor referral

My fiance wants to get certified. I got certified PADI by a guy near John Wayne airport (Go!Scuba), but they're no longer in business.

I would prefer a PADI instructor, to keep it simple. I also still have my book/video.

The guy who certified me made fun of the big classes from stores like Sport Chalet, having everyone run into the surf backwards. I'm looking for an experienced instructor who teaches small groups. I think there wasn't more then 1 or 2 people with me the whole class, which was really nice.

Any recommendations?
