To start with, I still want to know where you get off attacking me with no
provocation. I advised no one about diving. If you are going to accuse me of
doing so as a justification for attacking me, plese quote where I did that.

Since you post wasn't too organized, I'll extract a few lines out of order to organize my response.

>You recommend dangerous diving practices to someone that is asking about doing...
No, I never recommended any diving practices, I asked about the dive and said that it sounded
like a dive I would be comfortable doing it with a computer... (a few years back when age and
condition were not factors in my diving). Last years injury was a lulu.

>Hint, hint.. You keep saying that JJ doesn't know anything because he lives in Fla.,
No, I say it, because when he talked about using NITROX, he had no concept of what that
involved in CA. It sounded from his statements like he has never been on a CA charter.
He didn't know that until recently, in CA, only one boat gave NITROX fills. You don't have to
dive much in CA to know that NITROX is still quite an exception and used to be much more
so. That is why I think JJ knows very little about CA diving.
And just to add to this, I'll include George Irvine per your quote of him a few posts back.
On the issue of steel tanks, you posted his response to you. It said in part, "and why would
they want to anyway". Well, any idiot in CA knows why a steel tank is desirable. If he doesn't,
it is a real strong indication that he doesn't know very much of anything about CA diving.

>and that I can't prove narcosis at 150'..
Huh? Another UFS, Unidentified Flying Statement. Where'd that come from? I just
said that I had alweays found narcosis to be a negligible issue, unless I was
cold. That is partly just me and it's partly because I made a couple of dives
I never mention (before I was 20), that made me very familiar with narcosis. It's
like a mild buzz with paranoia and tunnel vision. It wasn't what you would call
debilitating if you recognize it and ignore the paranoia.
Oh, by the way, Narcosis is the same in CA as in HI as in Fl as in the ocean.

>why in the world would you chime in with advise when advising someone about how to approach it????
Huh? Again, where did you read any advise from me? I did miss the post describing the Moody.
You could just have referred me to it you know instead or giving me the whole alphabet.

>The other thing I don't understand about you is that you have said often that DIR applies for the
>deep, advanced stuff and then when a deep, advanced dive comes up you start with that personal
>preference crap..
I've said that I thought DIR was a good methodology for deep/wreck/cave diving,
but it may come as a revelation to you that DIR is not the only way to safely
dive.

>>You keep missing the boat.. For example, I didn't calculate a 2 1/2 minute bottom time, the
>>Buhlman algorithm provides for 2 1/2 minutes. You know the Buhlman algorithm don't you????
>>IT'S THE ONE THAT'S IN YOUR COMPUTER......
Do you know anything about how the computers you use for your job work? Do you
care? Hey, computers have doubled my bottom time such that I could dive pretty
much as much as I want. I never got bent, even when occasionally coming close
to the limits it set for me. What do I have to complain about? I'm there for
the hunting and sight seeing. Not to worry about my gear.

By the way, diving is my training. What I encountered going into the unknown
has challenged my skills far more than any class could. Instructors don't often
teach what is important to my diving. Anyway, it's just my way of learning. Not
everyone learns the exact same way and I am very good at learning.

What I am missing is an explanation for why you attacked me. I asked a question.
I didn't tell anyone how to dive. Your unprovoked attacks on board members is
the reason I still say that you should be kicked off the board permanently. Why
don't you go to the tech diver board? You are obviously primarily a tech diver.
CA diving is almost exclusively sport diving. You really have to look for the
deep dives you like to do. Almost no diving on the near 1000 miles of CA coast
line or at the island qualifies as tech diving. Certainly not 1%.

So why the unprovoked attack. How hard can that be to answer compared to your deco calcs?
Enjoy, seahunt

PS.
>>got bitch slapped and then cry like a 3 year old.
That I don't want to see.
