Steve, we typically use a 24" high pressure hose that runs straight down to the hip with a stainless steel snapbolt clip and a brass spg.

This is then attached to the left hip d-ring appoximently 2" from the backplate where it is easily reached when needed and out of the way. This keeps the spg above the plane of the divers body. Stainless steel doesn't oxidize like brass and the slot that the bolt slides threw doesn't become sharp after repeated use, eventually cutting up the end of your fingers or glove. A brass guage is used because it rides close to stage bottles and plastic would break.

There is no way in hell that it would drag on a reef.

Where in the world do you guys dream this stuff up from? I would be glad to help strainghten any of your misconceptions up, just shot be a line.

John
