Every point you make is well aimed, but that's the point. You have no
idea what the target is.
I do justify it. You refer to the Marine Mammals Protection Act as if
it is holy writ. It's not. It's actually poor law created based on
compromise and emotionalism, not science.
You ask if I understand the Sea Lion well enough. I do. I'm have an
extremely well developed knowledge of intertidal and marine ecology
which makes this whole thing irritate me. Your premises and the Marine
Mammal Protection Act are not based on science or even on reason. That
is why I support the Marine Sanctuaries. They are. People like you make
ecology into a popularity contest for survival. If it's cute and fuzzy,
it has a much better chance for survival. Ask the sharks about that.
Admittedly, I probably shouldn't complain, but it is so irritating to
see how people view the ecology. Either they have neolithic hunters
perspective or a tree huggers perspective. Neither is good and niether
is based on reason. Of course, reasonable laws are very difficult
to enforce, but as I said I'm it is legal to chase away seals when people
are fishing and there is a reason. Do you have any idea what kind of pests
Sea Lions can be? Oh....... but they're cute with such big brown eyes.
Too much care and not enough think.
