We have raped the oceans up one side and down the other for a long time. The Channel Islands reserve idea has nothing to do with elitist exclusive hunting rights. It's about setting aside one healthy ecosystem (the only one in the entire US) so it can heal. The important question is not whether you personally are being locked out but that the area and its inhabitants are given the chance to regenerate back to their natural levels. The panel making the assesments is not "the government" but a group made up of anglers, commercial fishermen, divers, marine biologists, environmentalists, and business people who will be impacted by this plan. We need to pass along at least one solitary marine ecosystem that is in pristine condition to the next generation. It will be a "no take" zone not a "no trespassing" one. So that next time you post you know what you are talking about why not attend the public forum on March 21 in Santa Barbara? It is at the Fess Parker Doubletree Hotel at 6:30 PM. Cabrill @ Milpass
