The aga's that I've used have such a swirl of air on the interior area around the eyes that defo isn't necessary. Also the interior volume is not that large in conjunction with the design of air flow that CO2 buildup would even be a concern, IMO. I would be more concerned with CO2 buildup in the blood with the expected strong currents.
