The Halcyon GUE/DIR backplate harness shoulder straps are NOT crossed at the top. Each shoulder strap extends from a left slot in the plate and a right slot. This is how it is pictured on both the Halcyon and Extreme Exposure web sites. It's also how the units are shipped. A friend of mine disagrees, says the straps should be crossed in back:
"Not just better for me Frank BETTER period. They are strapped that way NOT by scuba divers with experience but assembled by workers with no experience. It is done that way out of convienience and so many people figure it is supposed to be that way because it came out of the box that way."
So is my friend right or wrong? Batter up!
